5 Reasons Why I love the Internet:

1. I love discovering things about the world.
   About new places, living vicariously through a well written article, or scrolling through pictures of beautiful beaches.
   About the creative minds out there, and the creative things they produce
2. I love having answers on hand.
   Without having to browse through books, or newspapers or asking tons of random people.
3. I love the convenience of having access to people, even if they might not be in the same country.
   And now with social media, to check out what they've been up to too!
4. I love that I will never be bored
5. I love that there's tons of platforms I can stick my thoughts into, read others' thoughts, and study different people and cultures.

Bintan - not so shoddy after all.

Mention Bintan and I picture muddy beaches and murky waters. And like, throngs of parents with tiny toddlers thronging the beach.

So imagine my surprise when I saw this instead!

freakin' crystal clear blue waters, I kid you not!

As usual, bought a Groupon for Nirwana Beach Club. After the ferry charge and weekend charge and what not (watch out for those), totalled to about $150 for this weekend getaway. Got on the first ferry in and took the last ferry out. It's a 45-min ferry ride from Singapore, just enough for a short nap :) Nirwana provides buses to and fro the ferry terminal so it's really convenient.

St Pat's day cupcakes

Guess where I went for my cupcake fix again?

Plain Vanilla lah. Heard that they had 2 new flavors to usher in St Patty's Day and they sounded so yummy I had to try them -

"We're not big fans of Guinness - but Dumbledore-worthy magic happens when you mix copious amounts of stout with large portions of cocoa powder in cake batter. We struggle to put it in words, but if we had to try - the result is a cake that is intensely chocolatey yet fluffy and light; plain in appearance but interestingly flavourful.

We pair it with our signature cream cheese frosting so the chocolate stout cake (deservedly) takes the limelight, then gently dust some cocoa powder over to finish."

"To do just that, we made a cupcake that we think is quintessentially Irish - a boozy one. A vanilla-Irish cream cake with a centre of dark chocolate fudge spiked with Irish cream, topped with an Irish cream frosting and a rich Irish cream-infused truffle (homemade, no less)."

I liked the Irish cream one a lot! The alcohol isn't too overpowering but it's enough to lend a kick to the cupcake. The cake is also light enough to complement the heavier toppings. The chocolate stout one tasted just like it sounds - like a hearty mixture of chocolate and beer.

Two thumbs up for both cupcakes! Only available till 1 April so head down soon to try them!

Cineleisure's Next Online Sensation - Post 1 Part 1

HELLO EVERYBADY!!!! So in case you didn't know, Christine Tan and I joined this competition held by Cineleisure and Nuffnang called Cineleisure's Next Online Sensation(s?)

Silly us assumed that it would be screened at Cineleisure (logical right?) until Christine re-read the SMS that we got. It was at the Cathay instead.

Gin, Ah Hei, Ah Hua, An An - stole the stage with pure technique and no gimmicks. Deserving winners!

See the musicality and techniqueeee. GIRL POWER!

Also a big kudos to Carol and Fredy for producing an awesome show - the stage set up & multimedia was one of the best I've ever seen.

SDD Vol 03 - the bar has been brought UP man! The standard was crazy high across many of the groups, I think the judges must have had a really hard time deciding on the winners.

Malaysian Food Street @ RWS Singapore

Went to visit the Malaysian Food Street @ RWS cos I wanted to try chicken rice balls!

We couldn't get a carpark lot near the food street so we had to park at Equarius Hotel - which was fab I must say, all the staff were so polite and made us feel like hotel guests lol. ANW they had a free shuttle that brings you between hotels. If you happen to be in the same situation as us, just take a shuttle to Michael Hotel.

This week I was blessed to meet people that came together to do something for the community. Everything's still in its initial stages; one's under wraps, one's not-so, but it's an absolutely great feeling to know that in a small place like Singapore, there's still hope for humanity.

"We're like that - we just come together and do things. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't then it's okay."

I loved the spirit that was running through the discussions. I know so many cynics that have so many things to say about how humans are intrinsically selfish, and that many good acts are done on a selfish basis. Well, I'd like to believe that at the end of the day, we're all just working to better the lives of a group of people, or of some people; or just one person.

And, at the end of the day, the least we could say is that we tried. We took some time off paper-chasing, and we tried.

I guess that's probably the one thing that hinders most charity efforts - taking that leap of faith, crossing the hurdle, walking out of your comfort zone and daring to try.

Today, I dare you to try to make a difference.

I have succumbed. and changed to timeline.

After many months of trying to avoid using this (imo) hideous feature, Facebook suddenly thought it would be a good idea to give me a preview of myself on timeline (HORRORS!!) and to tell me that well, I could play around with it (gee thanks) and that it would be implemented by 21 March.

SO, since I would be FORCED to use this timeline feature, I decided to take the opportunity to use it to highlight my displeasure.

Muffin is on heat!

Poor baby is on heat and she looks so uncomfortable. Really not herself. It's like horny until cannot contain herself. She's all squirmy and wormy and such a mess! I have to keep hitting her butt to make her feel better.



Gonna get her spayed on Monday!!! Not looking forward to that :< was hoping I could hold out till she could pop a litter before getting her neutered. But there's a black tom cat prowling our area and she's too young to be a mom, so NO CAN DO.
