JCube! Finally! Went to visit Pique Nique as recommended by Jin - I had a bad craving for breakfast food.

Here's the interior - all picnic themed.

ON TO THE FOOD:

Big Breakfast, $15.80

Nothing great except for the baked beans - nicely done with some peppers and onions. Poached eggs were watery - as if the yolks were diluted; came with a drizzle of olive oil which didn't lend much to its bland taste, sausage was okay, bacon was dry and ... very brown. Came with orange juice that obviously came from cordial.

Petit Mac & Cheese, $7.80

Enjoyed this one - not too jelak/rich, just the right portion (between 2) not to make you feel overwhelmed by the cheese.

Hot Chilli Meat Fries, $11.00

Gotta give it to them - the chilli was good (not spicy at all, good for me); but fries were really passable.

Macarons, $2 each

Thought we should try the macarons since this branch was started by an award-winning pastry chef. These were alright. Nothing much to rave about.

Hot Iron Waffle with Salty Caramel, $11.80

Finally, after stuffing our stomachs with rather meh dishes, comes a winner. Crispy, fragrant waffle topped with ice cream (real vanilla bean!) and drizzled with really good salted caramel sauce. Bliss. A good end to our otherwise mundane, slightly overpriced meal.
